The Circus Tavern opened its doors as an Entertainment Complex in 1974 and continues to host a wide range of public sporting events, cabaret shows and a multitude of private hire events including weddings and film crew hires. Our capacity is 1100 seated and we can cater for all hired events from seminars to weddings or evening function events

Is the Circus Tavern for adults only?
It depends on the event you book. We have some ‘adult only’ comedy shows with an adult rating and other family events which are more suited to all ages young and old. Please check the individual event pages for more information.
Under 18s must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.
The consumption of alcohol anywhere on the premises by any person Under 18 is strictly prohibited. We operate a Challenge 25 policy and ID is advised for those who are over 18. Any person supplying alcohol to others underage will be ejected from the premises and the police may be informed.
What time is the bar open until?
We are licensed until 2am, although last orders may be called earlier at the manager's discretion (usually at around 12.30am on most show nights).
We operate a strict challenge 25 ID policy so if you are fortunate to look younger than your age, we advise to bring a photo ID.
Is there a dress code?
Smart casual is acceptable.
We will not permit the following items:
— Football tops
— Baseball caps
— Work Wear / Soiled Clothing
Admission is at the management’s discretion at all times
Do you have a special deal for carers?
We offer half price tickets for accompanying carers subject to ID.
The guest will need to provide official documented evidence of the disability, or of registered carer status (for example, blue or orange badge, award letters, or carer ID).
Do you use strobe lighting / effects during the show?
We advise that strobe lighting may be used during most performances as well as pyrotechnic and laser effects.
Do you have a cloakroom?
For most events we have a cloakroom facility available at reception on request.
Do you have a smoking area?
We have two designated smoking areas on the ground floor, one outside of the main entrance and the second located to the rear right hand corner of the main auditorium
Is the venue disabled access friendly?
We pride ourselves on being accessible to all to come and enjoy our great venue. Our main auditorium is fully accessible for disabled visitors, as well as Disabled Wash room / Toilet Facilities.

Is there an ATM / Cash machine?
We do have an ATM which located in the foyer.
Do you have a car park?
We have a large car park on site which is free of charge to our customers.
